Unmaking of Malaysia - a best seller

I visited several book shops in Kuala Lumpur today hoping to purchase a few copies of the recently released book - Unmaking of Malaysia by Ahmad Mustapha Hassan - only to be told that 'stok dah habis ' or out of stock.

The last book shop that I went to, Kinokuniya at KLCC, sold all its stock of 30 books and is awaiting new stock. The bookshop assistant told me that several customers were disappointed and asked why only 30 books were offered for sale. Yes, why only 30?

The book is being sought like 'pisang goreng panas' or like hot cakes and is definitely to be a best seller.

Only 30 books and to Kino? I cannot stomach this. Is it a subtle ban on the book?

I believe you can buy it directly from the Author's office. I had mine bought from his office in Sept 07, when it was just printed. En Ahmad signed personally on hard Cover. Strongly recommended to buy and read. Tel/emails are stated below.
