The diary of a proud Raja Cholan Indian/Hindu

VIOLENCE BEGETS VIOLENCE! NEGATIVITY BEGETS CONFRONTATION. These are the words of Blogger-cum-lawyer Jeyapalan T.S. Mahesan, a third generation Malaysian of the Raja Cholan Heritage.

In his blog entry entitled: Hindraf, Hindraf, Hindraf! he wrote: "Not a tear will I shed, Not a drop of blood will I cause split!

"I was born in this bumi/land. I am anak buah Malaysia! Have I been marginalised? No! I am a Hindu and have been & been to many Temples my Land!

"I have been not given a place in University? No! Three times I have been enrolled! Bachelor of Arts (Literature & Drama in Bahasa & English, with Sanskrit & Tamil Literature as minors) - graduated with Honours - Universiti Malaya 1977. Further Certificate in Legal Practice (The CLP), Universiti Malaya in 1986. Masters in Law (LLM) in 2000, University Malaya (I withdrew for personal reasons)."

Jeyapalan was educated at the Methodist Boys School, Kuala Lumpur (Standard 1 to Form 6! and was offered a place in the elite Royal Military College (RMC) in 1969, but his father did not give permission because he believed that it is his destiny to be a man of the Laws not to carry weapons!

"Was I never offered a Scholarship? Was too, many, but was/am very independant and refused!

"Am I anti Government! No! because The Executive is the fundamental triparte bastion of Malaysian Democracy! But I am always "quarelling" with Government, such that when I appear in a Government Department, things get down (for my people - Malays, Chinese, Indians, Kadazans, Muruts, Eurasians, Peranakan etc).

"In my heart & soul, the rich tapestry of our cultures is so imbedded with our heritage that even when I am travelling along our roads, past padi fields, past plantations, I feel the sense of history & blessedness this Bumi emmanates!

Jeyapalan said there were many imbalances, many injustices, many faults - but that's human. All matters can be resolved by those who have the ability, by dialogue & "harrasment", until the authorities relent. Proper & clever use of the law and talking will overcome.

"If I one person, with a whole lot of friends (network) can achieve these, without street confrontation, and especially when I do not have the financial resources, so can other Indians (read HINDRAF)."

He said he is very proud of by Heritage (Raja Cholan Indian/Hindu) but he is Malaysian first!

"I am very proud to be a subject of MY KING (DYMM YANG DI PERTUAN AGONG) & I will never give allegience to a Sovereign of another Land!

"Talk, discuss, suggest, keep plugging, my friends: Uthayakumar & Manogaran, but please not the streets!"

You are not only ignorant but a joke Raja Cholan Indian.Have you been blind and deaf all these years.

I obtained my first degree when I was in my early thirties and my second degree in late thirties. And I had to work very hard and sacrifice a lot of things. I have been a good student in school.

I am in my early fifties now and in overseas. I was born in a rubber estate.
I love Malaysia. I always wondered what would I have achieved if I were born a Malay in Malaysia?

Do I need to say more?

lets not play the race card. the issue is about the wellbeing of all malaysians.

the more you idiots at hindraf potray yourselfs based on ethnicity, the more nonsense will come about it. Just look justice square in the eyes and back it up with facts.

You are basically a pawn in a game of chess. you fell for that stupid trap of using the race card and now you're in a bigger pile of dung.

Just fight for the rights of all malaysians, prepare your votes for a government that you think will make this a reality and not otherwise.
YOU GET WHAT YOU DESERVE if you continue to be ignorant. peace

Jayapalan Mahesan was struck off as an advocate and solicitor for cheating and dishonesty. He also has pending criminal cases against him. Perhaps he has found another way to further enhance his lifestyle in Malaysia and he sure knows his way around.

Jeyapalan! you could have died with dignity, prehaps shot in the frontline, if you had joined the RMC.Shame you are a living disgrace.

I respect professionals but I find that you are an ignorant professional. PLEASE OPEN YOUR EYES and EARS.

Next time when you jump into a forum.....please provide some facts rather than telling YOUR OLD COCK STORY.....

in malaysia, colour seems very important or rather the right shade of colour is important

but it's still the grey matter in between the ears and spirit that matters

You are thinking of yourself only. Think for all Malaysian Indians. I am from a village in Perak. I have score very good result in SPM, but I can't get a place in UTM or JPA while others (hope you know who) got place in university even 2nd grade. I get a good result too in STPM but i can't get a place for Engineering in Local University. Do you think 66 points in STPM not enough for electrical engineering in local university. I repeat my STPM at last to enter local university. I work in Malaysia for 10 years and I still can't see a better future. All the promotion were blocked because I am not bumiputra and too young. Now I am in oversea in a MNC company sitting in top management position. Do you think that Malaysia is losing a lot of technical experience people like me. 90% of my friends who are electrical engineers are now working in other country. If there are no discrimination in education, jobs, business and others which everyone knows, I think Malaysia is the best place to stay.

You are one of the lucky chap. It doesnt go that way to 99% of indians today.

So dont pass sweeping statements.Care for the indians. If all is so rosy ,why then they are on the streets? Wake up from sleep my friend .You are not Alice in the wonderland.

Hmm... Aiyo saap, you may have to step out of your third world -- yea, there are flaws, so what ... tidak apa -- mindset-lah. Malaysia is a great country, and could achieve much if only the executive is more responsive, far less corrupt, autocratic, and far more transparent. Unfortunately, we are encumbered by the likes of Nazri (not to mention feudalistic Samy Vellu) who doesn't even know what is Democracy or minority rights. Sad, really.

So, saap ... kindly put an end to your patronising attitude towards Malaysians. We want a better Malaysia; if you can't step up, step away, please. Merci boku.

Well said Raja Cholan.... all non bumis should be very grateful to the bumis....the privilages that they are getting are quite small compared to the sacrifices that they have made when they agreed with the Brits on granting automatic citizenship to your first generation forefathers...so be patient lah sikit...jangan gelkojoh and pelahap sangat...slowly-slowly this will have to change....Imagine if you still stay in China or India...or in Fiji...or in Philipines...or in Thailand....or in Indonesia....or in Vietnam...Can you see a single chinese or indian names in these countries...let alone a chinese or indian school...

Hindraf is not the creator but the outlet for the extreme frustration that had built up among the marginalized Indians in Malaysia for decades. Remember Raja Cholan, you could be a blue blood royal, educated in royal school, had royal education and think and act like a royal. Let me tell you, imagine if today you walk out on the street, you are knocked down into a drain by a passing motorcyclist and you pass out. Imagine your royal highness Raja Cholan lineage lying there in the drain with mixed Malaysian crowd of all races looking down at you. There is going to be one common phrase your royal highness going to hear and that is "Keling Mabok". Unless and until you get this marginalized people you detest so much, to see hope and given opportunity, you and your children and their children will remain "Keling Mabok". I hate to use the word fate but that is what it is. That fate can only be changed if you start thinking about others. Don't worry about other races, as they are taken care of in many ways as much as I am trying to be true Malaysian here. Focus on those Indians whom you can help and make them reach for the dreams that you have achieved.

Remember Rev Martin Luther King.."I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character".

Remember there are also many Indians in Malaysia, who originated from this marginalized community and has become extremely successful . They came back and helped and still helping the marginalized in many ways they could. You know why, because they have something that you don't..the heart of a royal.Go look for that part of royal that is obviously devoid in you.

P/S. Anyway, I can assure you that the first pairs of hands that is going to pull you out from that drain is going to be that of an Indian.

The descendant of R.Cholan,Sir. It is amazing that you could not see the plight of the many poor Malaysian Indians. Have you been to an Indian squatter house? - no cement floor, walls constucted of discarded material, rusty zinc roof without a ceiling between the roof and the floor, inside become hot like oven from 11 am onwards? Somebody told me that there are some 40+ Indian squatter areas in the Klang Valley. Please have a heart. Such trumpeting as yours is not motivating but hurts to the bone. Don't you think something is seriously wrong with the policies of the govt if you have one community though being only a small percentage in population but yet have such a large share of poor people?

Raja Raja Cholan, stop bragging and do something useful, being your first piece of blog, its very much obvious you are desperate to impress certain quarters. Please live in a real world by looking at everyone around you and not only of yourself.

Raja Cholan Indian, you're truly ignorant of your surroundings. I'm sure many readers would doubt your education level but you seem to claim to be a graduate. It's surprising that you can't see broad daylight discrimination. Even my Malay friends see it, and they are aware of whats happening. The problem doesn't lie with the commoners. Its the politicians who play the racial card. Even they know it, but they just dont acknowledge it. However, you don't seem to be aware of anything. A true legend. Now we understand why the standard of University Malaya has dropped badly. You're a living example...

The people are not happy with the ruling government because of corruptions and other irregularities. But to accuse the government of ethnic cleansing and getting external support to cause harm to malaysia are unreasonable and unacceptable. PKR and Hindraf are losing your focus. Many statements by Hindraf and their supporters seem to be advocating violence.

Aiya all you got U degree. I got only SPM, that also fail...all red marks. Never mind lah I said to myself, go find a job and work hard. Thats what I did, like hell it was learning English at night and working in a hardware shop. Ten years later I opened my own shop and now have two hardware shops, one in a big town. Average income, shy to say, after putting back my profit into expanding the shops, well I have 4 times a general manager's income to spend. See how easy to make money in Malaysia...Don't have to run overseas to work...can drive BMW in Malaysia.

Hmm.. JeyaMahesan. Struck off the rolls for fraudulent mishandling of client's monies. Ruined many lives.

Now? A new start in life thru this blog huh?

By all means fight for your rights, but so with actual facts. Are temples been torn down without reason. I have seen too many temples with little or no devotees, no maintenance. Why should God be housed in dirty huts, The 17,000 temples can be reorganised and incorporated into 2,000 or so legal temples with proper facilities. The Hindu SangaM and HINDRAF should teach the people about having legal well maintained temples like churches and Mosques. The same with other problems - fight with facts and be reasonable. Do not expect others to give up their rights.

politicians may play the racial card, but why are they playing it?? To win votes from the biggest racist in the world, the Malaysian public, who after 50 years of independence still rely on steping on other races to survive. Sad state of affairs!

Only a Hindu can say he and his ancestors are Hindus through time. Others have to start with what they are today, which is known to history. Life is to live a peaceful live, not a fearful life. It's better to die fearless once then dying everyday in the world of fear. Indians are law abiding citizens. If they can arise to this level, then something has gone terribly wrong. I am a businessman dealing with semi government contracts. Never at anyone time I thought that if I can, why not others. The practice of 'denial of opportunities' is a seed of cleansing that can spread without borders. That is what has happened in Malaysia. The government may have started the program 'denial of opportunities to the minorities to help the malays at one stage. But, today it has spread beyond control by the government. 1st, civil service was conquered, later government agencies was conquered, then government linked companies were conquered, then education, then banking, now, downline consumer /retail market is the target. So is it the government's fault or the delivery system the government deploys. At the present stage, I believe the government need to enact law to safe the minorities from facing more trouble, failing which more trouble ahead for the government. Law and order is very vital for peace and stability, but, the same law and order is nothing for the fearless. Fear of law and order and fear of suppression and oppression is the recipe for a feared person to turn into fearless. Once 1 reach that stage, all law and order broke down.

The Indians are a minority and they have their own pain and sorrows and dissapointments. When this minority who are citizens of this country cry out for help to their financial abled father(the ruling party),whom they have been very loyal to for the last 50 yrs, what must the financially abled father do?
If I am the finacially abled father, its easier to help the minority than the majority. In India the scheduled caste which is the minority receive special privilages, like places in universities and job opportunities.
So,when the fiancially abled father has ignored these loyal children's plight for the last 50 yrs, they decided to do somthing to gain attention. But the fiancially abled father became incessed. How dare these subservient idiots protest,I have to teach them a lesson.I am going to charge them with attempted murder.I am not giving them bail.I want them to still have that servanthood spirit.I still want them to be the lapdogs they have always been.
So,Raja Cholan Indian,if you really are one, have some dignity.
Anyway one more question, was'nt the "Attempted Murder Victim" not wearing a helmet.

Dear aponak dikato,

Please be reminded that you are not bumiputera (son of the land) technically speaking...

What about the true bumiputras (Orang Asli) who have been displaced due to various projects i.e. Bakun, etc.. Who is fighting for their rights?

Be reminded that you too, are a settler, from the Majapahit empire...

I wouldn't be so cavalier as to remind other fellow Malaysians to step back in line...

Ridiculous.
